HCI Data Analyst

Summary
HCI is seeking a skilled Data Analyst with prior experience working with nonprofits to join our team. The Data Analyst will complete deep analysis of data and determine the best way to represent it visually to managers and stakeholders. They also ensure data accuracy and integrity, manage quality assurance and process documentation and assist with defining performance indicators. The Data Analyst will engage with program directors to assess and determine the success of specific initiatives. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience using Salesforce and Tableau (or other data visualization tool), and will be eager to contribute their skills and talents to the future success of a nonprofit serving more than 30 youth initiatives in Rice County, Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify areas for program improvement
- Develop and maintain data dashboards and reports that serve as tools to assess and track program performance and outcomes; design and implement data-driven strategies to improve program effectiveness and impact
- Use (compile/aggregate/disaggregate) data from multiple sources to create data visuals that support decision making and grant reporting
- Maintain knowledge of data-related legal and ethical guidelines and best practices in the youth development field
- Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to develop performance metrics and evaluation plans
- Effectively communicate data insights and recommendations for improved data tracking/usage to program managers and other stakeholders
- Provide training and support to staff on data collection, analysis, and best practices in data usage for reporting outcomes/progress
- Stay up-to-date with the latest data analysis tools and techniques
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in statistics, data science, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience as a data analyst, preferably in a nonprofit or social impact organization
- Experience with Tableau or other data visualization platforms required
- Experience with data-driven program evaluation
- Detail oriented and organized; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; capable of explaining complex information in a simple, organized, actionable manner
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills; mathematical acumen
- Consistently models high levels of professional demeanor and integrity
- Capable of completing work on time in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Comfort with, and ability to navigate, a dynamic and changing work environment
- Willingness to maintain the standards, carry out the purpose, and adhere to the policies of the Healthy Community Initiative
- Maintenance of a cell phone is an expectation of employment
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Experience with Salesforce
- Experience with SQL or similar database query tools
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with organizations in Rice County
