Joined the HCI team in 2020
Karissa grew up in Faribault and attended St. Olaf College. She has mostly worked with children. She grew up in a Deaf family and often had to advocate and interpret for her family.
As a TORCH Coordinator, Karissa works with students focusing on tutoring, college readiness, and social emotional support. She connects students to resources and makes sure they have a caring adult in their lives.
Karissa’s favorite part of her job is that she loves getting to connect with students and listen to them share their hopes and dreams.
Fun fact: American Sign Language is Karissa’s first language, and she loves doing crafty things!
