Best Buddies is a program that works to create friendships between those with and without disabilities.
Unlike other programs that help those with disabilities through giving them extra support, Best Buddies
works to create independence in those with disabilities. The SPED program at the high school is often
isolated from the gen-ed track, causing a feeling of isolation in school for those with disabilities. Best
Buddies works to stop this isolation and create a connection between the students in school. Expanding
this program helps it reach more people, effectively stopping the divide between the two groups at the
high school level.

The Best Buddies club hosted a community event at the local bowling alley in the spring of 2024.
