Ana grew up in Kenyon, MN, where she currently lives with her husband and three children. She has her associate degree in business management with an emphasis on marketing from Rochester Community and Technical College and is currently working towards her bachelor’s in social work. Ana first became connected to HCI by serving as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow at the High School TORCH program for three years.
Now as a TORCH Coordinator, Ana provides academic advising, social and emotional support, tutoring, and in-class support to students at the Northfield Middle School. She also supports the Middle School Youth Center and the EmpowHer mentoring program.
Ana’s favorite part of working with TORCH is building relationships with students and seeing their growth as they grow up. Ana said, “There’s something special about watching students overcome challenges, both personally and academically, and watching them thrive as they become more empowered and confident in themselves.”
