Healthy Community Initiative

The horrific shootings of State Representative Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, State Senator John Hoffman, and his wife Yvette, have left us saddened and shaken. Violence has no place in our community. We send the Hortman family our condolences and join people across Minnesota in grieving a strong leader and champion for youth voice and equal rights. We also send wishes for a full and rapid recovery for John and Yvette Hoffman.  

For more than 30 years, HCI has been committed to collaboration and the inclusion of all voices. We know that working together, truly listening to one another, and finding paths forward that support all people is the only way we make real progress. Although heavy-hearted, we remain steadfast in our work and hopeful for the future.
