Rice County PRIMEtime

PRIMEtime Mission:

Providing free out-of-school-time and summer enrichment programs for Rice County youth to help with engagement, academic growth and making connections.

Focused on Supporting Youth and Families:

PRIMEtime is a network of before and after-school and summer programs in Rice County focused on supporting youth and families. This network serves 3000+ youth, engaging those most at-risk. PRIMEtime programs and organizations provide safe places, caring adults, homework help and enriching activities that are proven to strengthen skills and help kids succeed. Participants in high-quality after-school programs have better school attendance, better grades, better test scores, more positive attitudes towards school, and higher aspirations. They also are better prepared to enter the workforce and less likely to use alcohol or drugs or to be involved in violence or crime.

It’s our community. They are our kids. Let’s take responsibility for making sure they have somewhere safe to go and positive, healthy activities to engage in. We’re all better off when kids succeed.

PRIMEtime sites offer:

  • Homework assistance
  • Daily skill-building workshops on an array of topics selected by youth
  • One-on-one mentoring with caring adults
  • Ongoing cultural- and gender-specific groups
  • College and career exploration experiences
  • Youth leadership opportunities, including serving on boards, setting programming, and mentoring younger students
  • Family events
  • Service-learning experiences
