Healthy Community Initiative

For about the last decade a great community has developed around the student-run ultimate frisbee program at Northfield High School. Each year approximately 60 students join this low-stress, high-fun environment as a way for light competition and to meet and play with other students. Although very easy to pick up, there are costs associated with playing Ultimate, registration fees, jerseys, travel to tournaments and renting practice fields. The three student leaders of the Ultimate Team wrote a grant to provide scholarships to make it affordable for any NHS student to join this group, independent of their ability to pay.
