Students Supporting Students Care Packages

December 2020

As COVID-19 cases are rising again in the community and schools have once again gone to online learning, many high-schoolers are struggling to feel connected to their peers and to feel hopeful and positive.  The Students Supporting Students (SSS) group at Northfield High School developed the Care Package project to address this.  Every high school student will have the opportunity to “send” a Care Package to one of their peers with a positive message personalized note included.  Using an online form a student can share the name of a friend they want to send a Care Package to and what they would like their note to say, SSS members will hand–write those notes on a special card and add it to a care package that will include; hard candy, chocolate, hot-chocolate packages, a worry stone, a fidget toy and a card with mental health tips.  The package will then be delivered to the students home reminding them that someone cares about and is thinking about them in these socially distanced times.
