Healthy Community Initiative

This proposal was put forward by five youth that comprise the leadership team of the Robotics Team. The Robotics Team is composed of approximately 40 youth each year and while it is run at the high school, it is not funded by the high school. Each year they have a season that is broken into two parts, the build season and the competition season. During the build season they learn many new skills and share those with middle school and other groups in the community. The competition season culminates in an international event held in Duluth. In order for youth from as many backgrounds as possible to be able to be part of the team, the group fundraises to cover event fees. The grant from YouthBank will help pay for competition fees for the year.
