Healthy Community Initiative

Youth that are struggling with permanent housing have many hurdles that they struggle with on a daily basis, having a place to wash their clothes should not be one of them. The Northfield Union of Youth Youth Board submitted this application as they recognized that over 11% of people in Northfield live under the poverty line, and unfortunately for many doing laundry becomes a “luxury.” As the Key is open 365 days a year a washer and dryer that is always accessible and free would be a true asset for many youth in the Northfield area.
