Healthy Community Initiative

Mock Trial is an extracurricular activity that is enjoyed by approximately 40 Northfield High School students each year.  Participants gain a myriad of skills that are beneficial to life after graduation including; public-speaking, teamwork, critical thinking, written and oral communications, time management and the ability to think quickly on their feet. While Mock Trial is open to all, there are financial barriers that can get in the way of students participating, particularly around the required dress code. The Mock Trial captains recognized this limitation and applied for a grant to establish a scholarship system so that students who are unable to afford purchasing professional attire can receive financial assistance. This grant will allow students, regardless of monetary concerns, the opportunity to become part of the Mock Trial team.
