Healthy Community Initiative

DECA is a national program dedicated to introducing students to the world of business and equipping them with tools and experiences transferable to any career path. Northfield High School has a robust DECA program with 49 students competing in the 2019-2020 school year. Every DECA student competes at the District level which costs $35 and usually 70% of the competitors continue on to the State competition which cost $185 per student. The High School provides little to no funding for students that want to attend these competitions but aren’t able to afford to do so financially. The DECA student leaders applied for a grant to establish a scholarship fund so that any student interested in taking part in DECA can do so, regardless of their families financial situation.
