Healthy Community Initiative

Recognizing the need to create more green space in and around their school, this group from the Area Learning Center applied for a YouthBank grant to build a raised bed garden on their school property.  This garden will give a boost to local pollinators, provide for free produce, and create an opportunity for ALC students to boost their mental health by being outside in nice weather while taking a class on gardening.  By addressing both of this round’s grant themes (climate action and mental health support), the YouthBank team thought this was a great project to support.
