HCI formed more than 30 years ago to create healthy communities where all children, youth and families can thrive. All. That starts with respecting the inherent dignity in all people. It means seeing the worth and wonder in people who may speak a different language, come from a different city, state or country, or who may practice a different faith, while appreciating our common humanity.

In its best moments America has embraced people who came here from all over the world, seeking opportunity and a better life, as my grandparents and great-grandparents did.

This holiday season, on behalf of everyone at HCI, I want to extend our welcome and our deep respect for our Somali and Latino friends, neighbors, business owners, and partners. We see you and we appreciate you.
