Healthy Community Initiative

When half of the students experience menstruation and period products are not easily accessible, does the school really provide students with their basic needs? The District Youth Council’s Equity and Wellness Subcommittee is addressing this issue by removing the inequities surrounding period products at Northfield High School. By providing products in all female and gender-neutral bathrooms, this group is addressing the economic challenges of acquiring period products faced by many as well as providing safe access to product for gender non-conforming youth.
