Healthy Community Initiative

During the pandemic and racial unrest of 2020 the mental health concerns of youth have become a major talking point for many in the community.  The Northfield Union of Youth (NUY) Mental Health Board has been part of these conversations and wants to take positive action to help their peers.  With a plan to host several round-table discussions this project will provide a platform for youth to tell their mental health stories and be heard in a supportive environment.  Both a way to empower youth to step into their stories and an opportunity to educate and create connections across the community, the NUY Mental Health Board believes this project will help community members to become better advocates for youth and to use their resources to support youth in building a safer and more open environment.
