Website Developer and Communications Coordinator

Description
Be part of a small but mighty communications team supporting a dynamic nonprofit organization based in a bustling, youth- and family-oriented town! Healthy Community Initiative (HCI) is looking for a communications professional with prior experience working for nonprofits to update, maintain, and develop the organization’s website while also coordinating and implementing other regular communications tasks alongside team members.
Work is hybrid; this person will office remotely but have in-person meeting requirements with staff and community partners. HCI was founded in 1992 and is located in Rice County, Minnesota, just south of the metro area. It facilitates health and racial equity alongside people and partners (its backbone functionality), and invests in cradle-to-career, community-driven programming that empowers youth and their families (over 30 programs).
Tasks
Website developer job duties (approximately 75%) include:
- Manage day-to-day website content, improve website presentation, and manage website’s ongoing development
- Work with program directors and managers to keep their program information up to date
- Monitor website performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot
- Monitor website traffic and analyze web analytics data
- Manage website hosting and domain registration
- Other duties as assigned
Communications coordinator duties (approximately 25%) include:
- Manage the organization’s email distribution database
- Produce content for email blasts, donor communications, and e-newsletters; and feed that information into the website as appropriate
- Work with other communications team members to develop and continuously improve multimedia content for digital and social media platforms
- Other duties as assigned
Required skills and qualifications
- At least 5 years demonstrated experience in nonprofit communications, website development & design, project management, and writing (Bachelor’s degree and/or related certification can account for up to 2 years of required experience)
- Proficient in WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Proficient or willing to become proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and Constant Contact (or similar digital marketing platform)
- Highly organized with superior attention to detail
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional maturity in managing sensitive information
- Sensitive/nuanced/balanced about community issues
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Maintenance of a cell phone is an expectation of employment
Preferred qualities
- Strong familiarity with Rice County organizations and resources
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or Somali
